I started thinking about my contribution to society or in this culture, the lack thereof. It is the same thought process which invalidated the value of a parent who stays at home full time to raise the children. I have had conversations with individuals who are involved with charities, which is never a bad thing; however, if I am unable to produce some level of assistance to society, I am guilted. As a husband and father of three young adults, I believe my wife and I have contributed in the form of raising three responsible and independent adults. Contrast that to individuals who are single or married without children who don’t perform any charity or contribution to society.

It is becoming more and more upsetting to travel the roads of Southern California. The table has turned for the worse when it comes to being a courteous and patient driver. I watch as drivers weave between cars on the freeway without the use of the vehicles blinker and yet they will use their turn signal when exiting when there is no reason to do so. On the other side, those of us who use our blinker to change lanes properly tend to anger the driver you are about to pull in front of so they speed up to prevent the lane change from occurring. We should all take a breath and try to be a little more courteous each day.
